Avenues for Youth (Avenues) partners with youth experiencing homelessness to achieve their dreams by providing emergency shelter, short-term housing, and support in a safe and nurturing environment.

Avenues supports an average of 300 youth each year aged 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness and other unstable housing situations. Of these, 85% identified as Black, Indigenous, and people of color. An estimated 42% identified of youth as LGBTQI+.

Avenues offers two shelter and transitional living programs, one rapid-rehousing program, and one host home program. These programs provide holistic support in a safe and nurturing environment.

Avenues programming includes individualized, holistic support provided by the Youth Advocate & Engagement Specialists and Youth Support Specialists, along with health & wellness support from mental health therapists, a physician, and a nurse. The shelter and transitional living programs provide access to at least three healthy meals and snacks per day. Through these supports, Avenues helps youth experiencing homelessness to move from crisis to safety and stability, heal from trauma, and pursue long-term goals for education, employment, relationships, health and wellness, housing, and life skills.
